This month, Struct PIM introduces smarter automation, stronger data control, and clearer API documentation - helping teams work faster and more confidently across every part of the product data flow.
Here’s what’s new this October.
New features
Warn users, and use attributes from primary categories with business rules
We’ve expanded what you can do with Business Rules, giving you new ways to guide users, reduce errors, and build more flexible automation.
Throw a warning
You can now set up Business Rules to warn users when saving changes to critical entities.
Warnings can now be configured directly from the Actions selector, giving you an extra layer of control to maintain data quality.
This helps prevent unintended product updates, encouraging users to double-check critical changes before they go live.
That means your team gets instant feedback when working on sensitive data, reducing mistakes before they happen.

Use primary category attributes
Previously, it wasn’t possible to access attributes from primary categories outside the master catalog.
That’s now changed.
With this update, you can now retrieve and apply attributes from primary categories, enabling more dynamic and context-aware Business Rules across your catalog structure.

Together, these updates make Business Rules more flexible, empowering you to enforce consistency, and automate processes with even greater precision.
Category inheritance
Keeping category data consistent across multiple levels just got easier.
With attribute inheritance from parent categories, updates you make at higher levels can automatically flow to all subcategories below, keeping data consistent across your catalog.
You can define exactly where inheritance begins.
For example, if you enable it from the first subcategory, all descendants automatically inherit those values.

Enhancements
New examples for our models in the API
We’ve expanded the OpenAPI documentation for our Public API, adding new examples and clearer enum descriptions.
This update makes it easier for developers to understand the data types and values required for each property, ensuring smoother integrations, and fewer errors when working with Struct’s API.

From smarter Business Rules to powerful category inheritance, these updates make Struct PIM even more adaptable for complex product ecosystems.
