Struct PIM Roadmap 2026

February 24, 2026

As commerce grows more complex and AI becomes embedded in everyday operations, product data infrastructure can no longer stand still.

At the end of 2026, Struct PIM 3 will reach end-of-life. This marks an important transition point, and a clear signal that the future of Struct PIM is built on version 4.

The 2026 roadmap reflects that direction.

It is not simply a collection of new features.

It is a continued investment in Struct PIM 4 as the foundation for structured, governed, and AI-ready product data.

Faster workflows, stronger governance

Managing complex assortments at scale requires more than speed. It requires control.

Struct PIM 4 continues to strengthen both.

Grid Edit, planned for release early in the year, will enable direct editing of products and variants in table view, reducing the need to navigate into individual product pages during large-scale updates.

Product Drafts introduce structured change management, allowing teams to work on new product versions within controlled workflows before merging into live data.

Without structured version control, increasing product complexity becomes operational risk.

The upcoming Entity Asset Viewer enables secure, controlled sharing of selected products and assets without compromising core data integrity, supporting collaboration without weakening governance.

Together, these capabilities reinforce what Struct PIM 4 represents: Operational efficiency without sacrificing structural control.

A more connected product ecosystem

Product data moves between ERP systems, commerce platforms, suppliers, and identity providers.

Struct PIM 4 is designed to operate as the governed center of this architecture.

Enhanced Microsoft Entra ID integration is planned to align user roles directly with enterprise identity systems, strengthening access control across environments.

The upgraded Shopify connector, along with continued improvements to the Business Central integration, is scheduled as part of the ongoing development of Struct PIM 4 - strengthening how product data moves between operational systems and commerce channels.

Supplier Portal 2.0, rolling out during 2026, modernizes how supplier data enters and is validated within the platform, reducing manual correction loops and improving data consistency at the source.

This is not integration for convenience. It is integration for structural stability.

Preparing for AI and Agentic Commerce

Looking ahead, Struct PIM 4 is also preparing organizations for a new interaction model with product data.

With the planned implementation of an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server, AI agents will be able to securely interact with Struct PIM through standardized interfaces.

This enables conversational access to product data and - with proper permissions - controlled updates through AI-driven workflows.

AI enhancements within the Media Archive, including automated background removal and contextual image adjustments, further streamline content production directly inside the platform.

These capabilities position Struct PIM 4 not simply as a system of record, but as infrastructure for AI-native commerce.

Struct PIM 3 end-of-life and why migrating matters

Struct PIM 3 will reach end-of-life at the end of 2026. After that point, it will no longer receive new features or ongoing development.

All forward-looking capabilities - workflow improvements, expanded integrations, AI functionality - are exclusive to Struct PIM 4.

Remaining on version 3 does not only mean missing new features.

It means operating on a platform that is no longer aligned with the direction of modern commerce infrastructure.

Migrating to Struct PIM 4 is not about staying current. It is about staying competitive.

It ensures continued innovation, stronger governance, scalable integrations, and readiness for AI-driven interaction models.

The organizations that move deliberately and early will not simply migrate platforms. They will modernize their product data foundation for the next generation of commerce.
