
The DPP is designed to store a comprehensive range of product-specific information, with data requirements varying depending on the type of product. This ensures that each product has a tailored and relevant set of information to support transparency, traceability, and sustainability.
Despite these differences, all product passports follow a common structure, organized into 12 main categories. These include: General information, Labels & certifications, CO2 footprint, Supply chain due diligence, Materials & composition, Circularity & resource efficiency, and Performance & durability. Each category provides key insights into a product’s lifecycle, from sourcing to disposal.
Below is an example of how a Digital Product Passport for batteries could look, demonstrating the extensive data points organized into some of these categories.
